No bail for suspect accused of murdering SWS reaction officer

Cameron was shot and killed in the early hours of November 6 while reportedly responding to a business robbery on Middle Road in Bartlett.

No bail was granted to Meshack Gwindingwe (24), who is charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Spot Watch Security (SWS) reaction officer Jan Cameron (49) in Bartlett on November 6.

Gwindingwe appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court alongside his co-accused, Simphiwe Fuga Mthombeni (33), on February 23 for a bail hearing.

Prosecutor Kagiso Ralethata confirmed that no bail was granted and that both accused remain in custody.
The case was postponed to March 30.

Cameron was shot and killed in the early hours of November 6 while reportedly responding to a business robbery on Middle Road in Bartlett.
It is understood he had been called in for back-up and was shot moments after stepping out of his vehicle.
