The Rock Raceway came alive with the sound of revving engines and screeching tyres when Kings of Gauteng 2026 drew thousands of motorsport enthusiasts to the Brakpan circuit on July 25 for a celebration of South Africa’s thriving spinning culture.

Hosted by Global Female Movement (GFM), the event featured 78 of the country’s leading spinning drivers, as well as drift car and motorcycle displays that thrilled spectators throughout the day.

Founder Narina Naidoo said the event was about more than entertainment.

“Kings of Gauteng is about celebrating the incredible talent we have in South African motorsport,” she said.

“We wanted to create a platform where every driver, regardless of their achievements, could be recognised for their contribution to the sport while inspiring the next generation.”

Naidoo added that bringing together drivers, teams, sponsors, media and fans under one roof demonstrated the unity and passion that continue to grow the sport.

The event showcased some of the country’s most respected spinners, with smoke-filled displays, precision driving and high-energy performances keeping the crowd captivated from start to finish. Drift cars and motorcycle exhibitions added to the action-packed programme.

GFM has built a reputation for creating inclusive motorsport events while promoting greater opportunities for women in the industry.

Kings of Gauteng 2026 marked another milestone in the organisation’s efforts to unite the motorsport community.

Naidoo described the event as one of the largest gatherings of spinning talent in Gauteng, bringing together established names and rising stars in a celebration of the sport rather than a contest for trophies.
