Deadly shootings continue in Reiger Park

Police are searching for at least two gunmen who on Monday night (November 21) randomly opened fire at patrons inside a tavern in Reiger Park.
One patron died on the scene and another was taken to hospital after they suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Information gathered by the Reiger SAPS indicates that the patrons were watching a soccer match at Blomspot Tavern on Arthur Hobbs Street when the gunmen emerged around 19:15 and started shooting at the patrons through one of the windows.
They then reportedly entered the establishment and continued to open fire. In the process Mark Trim (48), who was seated next to the window, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the back of his head, left arm and upper body, before he was declared dead on the scene.
The other patron who was hit was rushed to hospital where he is fighting for his life.
The motive for the killing remains unclear and police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.

This incident came about a week after a 35-year-old man, Alex Khumalo, was shot dead in Ramaphosa informal settlement while he was playing a gambling dice game.
Police in the area are also probing the deaths of five residents killed in four separate gun-related crimes between November 2 and October 26.
