The Ekurhuleni Operational Task Team apprehended four most wanted suspects in Third Road, Bardene, on February 2, who they believe are linked to house robberies and car thefts in Boksburg North.
According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Justice Ramaube, the arrests emanate from a tip-off from the Anti-Hijacking Unit notifying the police of a hijacked car in Boksburg North.
“Officers came across a car matching the description provided – a white GWM double cab – with four male occupants. They discovered the car is linked to a house robbery case opened at Boksburg North SAPS,” he explained.
Ramaube added police found burglary implements, a tracking device, a remote control, reflector jackets, various car licence plates, the head of a pick axe, a crowbar, scissors and two cellphones in the vehicle.
Investigations revealed that the suspects are being sought by police in different districts.
“They have also been linked to other robberies and theft of vehicles in Boksburg North.”
The four suspects face charges of possession of a suspected stolen vehicle and possession of suspected housebreaking implements and will appear in court soon.
