Boksburg North SAPS arrested two men following a robbery at a mini supermarket on the corner of Rietfontein Road and Second Street on June 28.
According to Boksburg North SAPS station commander Colonel Mack Mngomezulu, sergeants Martin Rikhotso and Basani Mehala were conducting their duties when a community member informed them about the robbers, at about 12:00.
“The officers spotted the robbers, who were driving a white VW Polo, and gave chase till the corner of Trichardts and Railway roads, where robbers bumped into another car. The officers managed to apprehend two robbers while two others got away,” said Mngomezulu.
Police recovered a firearm and stolen goods.
No injuries were reported.
The suspects are charged with business robbery, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of illegal firearm and ammunition.
