Human trafficking accused case postponed again

The matter will resume on November 24.

The man accused of human trafficking-related charges involving minor girls was not at his scheduled court appearance in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on September 28 because he was sick.

The 35-year-old from Heidelberg and his 38-year-old female co-accused from Margate face charges of human trafficking, rape, conspiracy to commit a sexual offence, aiding and abetting another person to commit a sexual offence, sexual grooming of children, sexual exploitation of children and compelling or causing children to witness sexual offences.

The offences involving two minor girls, aged between 13 and 14 at the time of the incident, reportedly happened between 2022 and 2023.

The woman also faces additional charges of keeping a brothel at a guesthouse in Boksburg and living off the earnings of prostitution.
Her bail application was denied on July 14, while her co-accused was granted R20 000 bail on April 24.

The matter was postponed to November 24 for the man to appear.
