Officers’ trial postponed again
The officers allegedly forced their way into the premises and robbed the owner of the cables.
The trial date for the two Boksburg North police officers arrested for cable theft was postponed at the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court till November 23.
Sergeants Pretty Ndlovu and Solomon Hlengane appeared on September 28, facing charges of copper theft, defeating the ends of justice and common robbery.
The matter was, however, postponed as the owner of the copper was not in court.
They were arrested at work on February 1 by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate. Each officer was granted R3 000 bail.
Ndlovu and Hlengane were previously sector managers at the station.
Boksburg North SAPS station commander Colonel Mack Mngomezulu confirmed the officers are back at work.
