Suspected criminals arrested in Villa Liza, Windmill Park

The Dawn Park police will not tolerate any act of crime.

Illegal firearm

The Dawn Park police arrested a man in possession of an illegal handgun and eight live rounds of ammunition in Villa Liza on November 5.

According to the Dawn Park police spokesperson, Sergeant Nkemeleng Mabula, the police received a tip-off at about 00:55 of a man in possession of an illegal firearm.

“The Dawn Park police officers, in collaboration with the Crime Prevention Wardens, followed the trails of the suspect and found him at his home in Villa Liza. Upon arrival, they requested to search the suspect and found the firearm and eight live ammunition on him.

The suspect failed to produce a license for the firearm, and the officers arrested him for possession of an illegal firearm and live ammunition.

Drug dealing

The bags of dagga confiscated from a suspected drug dealer.

• On the same day, the Dawn Park police arrested a suspected drug dealer.

According to Mabula, a community member notified the police of suspected drug dealings on a property on Lama Street in Villa Liza.

“The police proceeded to the property and caught the suspect red-handed, with a large amount of money and crystal meth in his possession.

They opened a case of drug dealing against the suspect.

• The Dawn Park SAPS arrested another suspected drug dealer in Windmill Park on November 5.

Mabula said the police received a tip-off about suspected drug dealings at a property in Windmill Park.

“Upon arrival at the address, they found the suspect red-handed in possession of dagga bags.

The police members opened a case of drug dealing against the suspect.

All the suspects appeared at the Vosloorus Magistrate Court on November 6.
