The man and woman accused of human trafficking-related charges involving minor girls appeared once again at the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on November 24.
The 35-year-old man from Heidelberg and his 38-year-old co-accused from Margate face charges of human trafficking, rape, conspiracy to commit a sexual offence, aiding and abetting another person to commit a sexual offence, sexual grooming of children, sexual exploitation of children and compelling or causing children to witness sexual offences.
The offences involving two minor girls, aged between 13 and 14 at the time of the incident, reportedly happened between 2022 and 2023.
The woman also faces additional charges of keeping a brothel at a guesthouse in Boksburg and living off the earnings of prostitution.
Her bail application was denied on July 14, while her co-accused was granted R20 000 bail on April 24.
The matter was postponed to January 26 for indictment and for trail date in the high court to be set.
