Five ATMs bombed in 10 minutes at Reiger Park shopping centre
Constable Msimanga has appealed to the public for any information that may aid in the apprehension of the perpetrators.
Five ATMs were bombed at the Ramaphosa Stallion Shopping Complex in Reiger Park in the early hours of May 15.
Constable Johannes Msimanga, spokesperson of Reiger Park SAPS, said the incidents occurred at about 01:30.
“A group of seven men clad in balaclavas entered the shopping complex and, using high-calibre rifles, created a diversion while they targeted the ATMs.
“Within 10 minutes, the suspects destroyed five ATMs – one FNB, one ABSA and three Capitec and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
“No arrests have yet been made and investigations continue as we hunt for the suspects,” said Msimanga.
He appealed to the public for any information that may aid in the investigation and arrest of the perpetrators.
“The police urge the Reiger Park community to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to the authorities.”
