The police are investigating a case of murder after a man was shot fatally on Trichardts Road, Cinderella, on the night of September 7.
According to Ekurhuleni district police spokesperson Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the man was found dead in a white Renault Sandero Stepway.
“The police responded to a scene where a white car was parallel parked with the lights on. Inside was a man in the driver’s seat who looked dead. The rear windscreen was smashed, and there was a sign of a rifle bullet hole,” said Sekgobela.

The deceased was certified dead on the scene and identified by his wife.
Sekgobela said the motive for the shooting is unknown.
The Boksburg Advertiser visited the scene on September 8.
A neighbour described the incident as terrifying.
“We were watching the rugby match between South Africa and New Zealand when we suddenly heard gunshots. We did not know where they came from. A few moments later, we looked outside the window and saw the car,” the neighbours said.
According to neighbours, the victim lived a few houses away from where he was found.
