Another chain store robbed in Boksburg
An armed gang struck at Witfield Square Shopping Centre and made off with cash and vouchers.
Armed robbers made off with R30 000 worth of Flash vouchers and an undisclosed amount of money in a daylight heist at the Ackermans store at Witfield Square Shopping Centre on Main Street.
The gang of four men hit the store at about 16:00 on April 9.
Flash tokens are a digital currency that top up your Flash account balance. With a topped-up Flash balance, you can make payments and sell services such as airtime, data, electricity, prepaid water, and more.
The robbers held staff at gunpoint and instructed a cashier to open the system and print out all Flash token vouchers, and she complied.
They grabbed money from the cash registers before fleeing the scene.
The shots were fired, and no injuries were reported. The suspects are still at large, but investigations are underway.
