The red Chevrolet sedan in which he was reportedly travelling was riddled with bullets by gunmen driving a white bakkie.

The Boksburg Advertiser understands that the SAPS is investigating an apparent hit on Brown Mogotsi, a controversial businessman and a prominent figure in the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry into alleged criminal activity, political interference, and corruption in the South African criminal justice system.

SAPS national spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed the probe while speaking to journalists during a televised media briefing in Vosloorus.

She told journalists that an SAPS team will collect evidence from the scene of the apparent hit on Mogotsi’s life.

The car, a red Chevrolet sedan, in which he was reportedly travelling, was riddled with bullets by gunmen driving a white bakkie in Vosloorus on October 3.

However, Mogotsi has not yet opened a case. Vosloorus police are still expecting him to report to the station to lay a charge of attempted murder.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information on the incident becomes available.
