Daveyton police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a man (pictured) regarded as a person of interest in the attempted murder of the deputy principal of Dinoto Technical School.

The deputy principal was shot as he was entering the school premises on the morning of November 7.

According to the Gauteng Department of Education, the deputy principal sustained injuries during the incident and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he received medical treatment.

Police are urging anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of the man to come forward.

Members of the public with information are requested to contact Detective Sergeant Malindi on 067 626 7071.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
