WATCH: Councillor lashes out at solid waste department, denounces illegal dumping
On the other hand, waste department teams have over the weekend visited different parts of the city to tackle the waste collection backlogs
Ward 32 Clr Marius de Vos, has lashed out at the waste management department team for their erratic performance and those responsible for illegal dumping on the streets and public spaces.
He also denounced the alleged deliberate efforts to sabotage the city’s plans to improve service delivery. He called on the executive to take harsh measures against those responsible.
“Dumping waste in open fields and along roads has become the order of the day.”
De Vos calls on communities to work with the city to combat illegal dumping and keep the city’s streets and public spaces clean.

On the other hand, waste department teams have over the weekend of November 18-20 visited a couple of areas in Boksburg, Benoni and Kempton Park to tackle the waste collection backlogs.
