Waste removal interruption in Boksburg South and Vosloorus

The waste removal interruption comes as the city moves to cut back on contracted services and build stronger in-house capacity.

The City of Ekurhuleni has confirmed an interruption in waste removal services affecting several areas in Boksburg South, Vosloorus and surrounding communities.

The disruption has impacted scheduled refuse collection rounds, litter picking, and the clearing of illegal dumping sites.
Without revealing the real cause of the interruption, the city said it is actively addressing the cause of the interruption and expects services to resume as soon as possible.

Areas affected include Dawn City, Dindela, Vosloorus Extensions 16, 31, 28, 25 and 7, Ndlovu Estate, Dawn Park Extensions 7 and 9, Holomisa, Van Dyk Park, Hlomi, Mzamo, Wilodale, Ingonyama Estates, Mfundo Park, East Field, Mailula, and Paradise Park Extension 12.

The city has assured residents that a waste removal service recovery plan will be communicated in due course through its official digital communication platforms.
The city apologises for the inconvenience caused.
