Meet Ward 32’s committee

These structures are consultative forums that are independent and non-partisan

A ward committee consists of 10 persons of diverse interests and sectors in their ward and serves as an advisory committee to the ward councillor, who also acts as the chairperson of the committee.

According to the metro, the role of ward committees is to advise the ward councillor and to facilitate community engagement within their respective portfolios.
They assist with service delivery by working with the ward councillor to identify service delivery bottlenecks, ensure accountability and assist in driving civic education by delivering information that affects their wards.

These structures are consultative forums that are independent and non-partisan and must be impartial in carrying out duties.
The elected members receive a R1 000 monthly stipend for any costs they may incur.
