Hip-hop artist, fast food owner aim to inspire youth

The duo want to educate learners about career choices.

Gugu Mbatha (GG’s Fast Food) and Mpho Ncholo (Taded) are working towards giving back to the community of Boksburg by providing fast food and doing school tours.

During the tours, Taded performs to motivate and educate high school learners.

According to them, the aim is to make a change in the community by educating, employing and showing the youth that when you believe in yourself there is nothing you can’t achieve.

The duo said in the third term they will be educating learners about different career choices and will also run a talent competition where the winners will be given goodies from GG’s Fast Food.

GG’s Fast Food is located in Windmill Park by a container mall.

According to Mbatha, he used to work at a prestigious restaurants as a cooker and got promoted to supervisor.

“I then moved to a canteen where I fell in love and gained a passion for food. I realised that I should start my own franchise with the enthusiasm I have for food.

“On Thursdays, we are working towards giving back to the community by providing food at schools,” said Mbatha.

According to Taded, a hip hop artist born in Tsakane, he began performing at the age of 15 when his cousin inspired him to compose music.

“I host high school tours and educate learners about social issues, such as gender-based violence. I also work with people that provide mentorship for learners” said Taded.
