Boksburg North CPF keeps furry friends warm at SPCA

The Boksburg SPCA receives up to 600 dogs monthly.

Boksburg North Sector Four donated food and blankets to the Boksburg SPCA as part of their Mandela Day Drive on July 22.

The members of the CPF did a food and blanket drive whereby they asked community members to show support by donating items to help their furry friends.

Sue Beadon, the secretary of the SPCA, thanked the CPF members for their generous act. She explained to them how the SPCA is operating and what challenges they face.

Taygon Boshoff also visited the SPCA to hand over the food and blankets.

According to Beadon, they take 500 to 600 dogs monthly, and they can’t turn them away because they lack space and, they make ends meet.

She added that they do fundraising events to generate funds to maintain the institution and make sure they never run out of food for the animals.

“We rely on sponsors and donors to keep this place running, and I recommend that people ask their neighbours and friends to donate items they no longer use,” said Beadon.

The CPF members received treats to give to the dogs while touring the SPCA premises and they were showed different corners and different breeds of dogs.

While busy with the tour, the SPCA also received another generous sponsor of food and warm blankets.
