SPCA seizes five dogs

It was evident the animals were malnourished.

The Boksburg SPCA confiscated five malnourished power breed dogs from a home in Villa Liza on August 28.

Four of the dogs are pit bull terriers, while one of them is a cross-German shepherd. Among the animals is a puppy of about three months.

They confiscated the animals after a community member reported the situation to the society.

The owner had received a warning to improve the conditions, which he did not do, so a warrant was obtained.

The society will not press charges against the owner at this stage.

The Boksburg SPCA still needs donated adult and puppy dry food and appeals for the community’s support.

Those who want to help can drop off a bag of food at the SPCA, order via Takealot, buy a bag of food at the SPCA reception and donate it back to the society or make a monetary donation.

For more information, call the SPCA on 011 916 5906/7.
