Another successful year for Huis Dien Bothma
The hard work and dedication of volunteers contributed to the successful year.
SAVF Huis Dien Bothma AGM on September 8 reflected on a successful 2022/23, where they achieved key milestones.
The chairperson, Johan Louw, was pleased to report on another year of outstanding performance and progress.
He pointed out the management board set operational targets, knowing that challenges are emanant in these unsure and challenging times.
“We were managing an organisation that stood the time of Covid-19 and raising interest rates, as well as increased inflation and the reality of load-shedding.
“The Dien Bothma management team, service management and volunteers transformed operational and infrastructure challenges into the set goals and benchmark. They successfully excelled and ensured that we end the year by meeting all our targets and a positive bank balance,” Louw.
He added most challenges and goals, if not all, were only a dream for several decades, and now, at the end of this term, they have proof of the results achieved.
“This was another great year for us where we finalised key milestones. Our new main admin office, new reception, the managers and accounts offices, display our vision of a modern, well-functioned complex for our organisation. The new linen room and complete upgrading of the service kitchen in the frail care unit will ensure better care for our frail people and caring staff.
“Our efforts in transforming our institution by changing infrastructure, upgrading our facility and buildings, renovations and modernising our assets, put us on the road to market competitiveness.
“By investing in our facility and complying with legislation and the safety of our residents, we positioned ourselves to make sure that we are ready for future challenges in offering outstanding affordable service to senior citizens.
“The service management board and management team took the responsibility to manage all aspects of the Dien Bothma SAVF unit with great dedication and enthusiasm. We aimed to ensure effective leadership on all aspects of older adult care within the legislative framework, available infrastructure, and budget constraints,” he added.
Louw thanked those who contributed to the success.
