In celebration of National Day of Community Service, Miss Boksburg role model of the year 2023 Ashlynn Vermeulen made a donation to Kids Haven in Benoni on November 4.
She handed over blankets, toys and clothing to the children.
“The smiles on their faces was heart-warming. I would like to become a volunteer at Kids Haven. My goal is to show compassion. I believe this is the key to unity and hope,” she said.
Kids Haven’s fundraising coordinator Susan Daly thanked Ashlynn for her support.
“It’s especially heart-warming to see youngsters helping others. Thank you for being kind and supportive,” she said.
