SPCA needs your donations
The Boksburg SPCA’s kennels are overwhelmed during the Christmas period, and they need the community’s help.
As the Boksburg SPCA’s annual Christmas Cheer Fund is off to a slow start this year, the society is urging businesses to support the initiative.
Standing at R13 900, the SPCA needs help to raise R100 000 to reach its target.
Last year, the society opened the fund in November, also with a goal of R100 000, and exceeded it by R27 044, thanks to the supportive community.
The fund’s purpose is to raise money to feed the furry critters, upgrade the boarding cattery, do 15 outreach sterilisations, obtain a dental kit for the clinic and new kennel fronts for the puppy block.
Community members are encouraged to get involved by honouring past and present pets through donations – no amount is too small.
The society says it has over 45 000 followers on Facebook and only needs 2 000 supporters to donate R50 to exceed the target.
To donate to the fund, visit the society on Railway Street, Boksburg, or deposit the donation into the bank account:
Boksburg SPCA, Absa Bank, branch code 632005, account number 4046388139.
Beneficiary reference: Christmas Cheer and your name/anonymous. It’s important to state that the payment is for the Christmas Cheer Fund.
The Boksburg Advertiser’s website can mention those who support the initiative.
