SPCA in good cheer as fund exceeds target
The society is grateful for the community’s support.
Thanks to the community’s support, the Boksburg SPCA surpassed its annual Christmas Cheer Fund target by R44 653 this year.
The fund opened in November, intending to raise R100 000 by January 15.
Businesses, schools and individuals supported the fund, and the SPCA received donations ranging from R50 to R50 000.
The society will use the money to upgrade the boarding cattery, do 15 outreach sterilisations, obtain a dental kit for the clinic and new kennel fronts for the puppy block.
Manager Vicky Finnemore thanked those who opened their hearts to the SPCA.
Last year, the society raised R127 044.
