Fireworks: ‘We need a balance”

There must be a middle ground for pet owners and those who want to use fireworks for special occasions.

I read with a bit of disappointment the entitled attitude of pet owners in relation to the use of fireworks.

Whilst one can understand the need to protect animals, the needs of those who enjoy the use of fireworks to celebrate all kinds of occasions is also important.

It cannot be just about those for or those against it. We need a balance and I’m afraid the pet owners’ views seem to consider only their needs and that is why this issue causes division.

I’m sure a middle ground is possible and not the all or nothing approach that pet owners have.
