Two Boksburg students get chance of a lifetime

Joubert launched a partnership last year with her alma mater, Boston City Campus, to award 31 academic scholarships to study at Boston City Campus.

A world of opportunities opened up for two Boksburg residents after they recently received bursaries to study at Boston City Campus as part of reigning Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert’s educational advocacy campaign, the Natasha Joubert Collective.

Joubert launched a partnership last year with her alma mater, Boston City Campus, to award 31 academic scholarships to study at Boston City Campus for distance e-learning studies towards a full-time undergraduate qualification.

The Study Buddy Fund partnered with the Miss South Africa Organisation to also fund year-long studies at Boston City Campus.

Nana Cele (23) of Windmill Park will be studying for a higher certificate in financial planning at the Germiston campus.
“I’m touched that someone believes so much in me that they’re willing to fund my education.

“It also serves as a steppingstone for future opportunities, such as internships, research projects, or job placement.Additionally, scholarships can contribute to building a sense of self-confidence and empowerment, knowing that financial support is in place to pursue educational and career goals,” Cele added.

Dineo Galane.

Vosloorus’s Dineo Galane (19) is studying for a higher certificate in marketing practices at Boston City Campus, Alberton.

“The bursary means a lot to both my family and me. University fees have become so expensive, and I honestly don’t know how I would’ve paid my tuition fees if this opportunity hadn’t come along for me,” Galane explained.
