Focussing on Child Protection Week

Boksburg Kidz Clinic encouraged community members to protect children.

This year’s National Child Protection Week (CPW) was observed from May 29 to June 5 under the theme ‘Protecting South African Children, 30 years on’.

Boksburg Kidz Clinic social work supervisor Nonhlanhla Biyase shared a message in light of this important week.

She highlighted how crucial it is to acknowledge the serious issue of child abuse in our communities.

“Every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment. Unfortunately, many children face physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, often within their own homes,” Biyase said.

She said Kidz Clinic is deeply concerned about the high prevalence of child rape cases they receive.

“To support affected children, we offer free counselling and play therapy. Our services are available to any child who has experienced abuse or trauma,” she said.

Biyase appealed to all community members to take the lead and protect our children.

“If you suspect a child is being abused or if you are a victim seeking help, please reach out.”

Support is available through these resources:
