Bartlett author’s mysterious sequel is now available

Naidoo said the sequel is guaranteed to keep readers on their toes.

“Write from your heart and don’t let anyone put down your ideas. Your thoughts are unique and that will turn your writing into a success.”

These are the words of advice to aspiring writers from Vibashni Naidoo from Bartlett.

Naidoo’s second book, Ranisha’s Story: Meeting the Mistrys (Mysteries), a sequel to Ranisha’s Story: Beyond the Celestial Garden, was recently published.

The Boksburg Advertiser caught up with Naidoo to chat about her newly released book.

Ranisha’s Story: Meeting the Mistrys (Mysteries), a sequel Ranisha’s Story: Beyond the Celestial Garden, is now available.

How did people respond to your first book?
People found my first book very entertaining. They were eager to know what happens next.

What inspired you to write Ranisha’s Story: Meeting the Mistrys (Mysteries)?
I have received only positive reviews about my first book. This inspired me to write the sequel. Many readers expressed an interest in mystery/crime books, so I challenged myself to write a different genre, other than romance. The sequel contains elements of mystery and fantasy, and it is primarily a psychological thriller.

Can you share what people can expect from the sequel?
My stories always contain twists to keep the reader engaged. The sequel will keep readers on their toes. When you think the storyline is going in a specific direction, it takes a different turn. The ending has a jaw-dropping twist that no one would expect.

Are you still an accountant, or a full-time writer?
I am a full-time accountant. Writing is a hobby that I enjoy during my spare time.

How long have you been writing, or when did you start?
I started writing many years ago, but because of work pressure, I could not finish my first book. During Covid, I completed the first book.
The second book came together smoothly. The ideas came naturally, which made it easier to put everything together.

Who has been the biggest supporter of your writing?
My husband always encourages me, although I am self-motivated. Every achievement of mine only drives me to do better.

What would you like to achieve through your new book?
Bringing joy to others is an accomplishment in itself. The positive reviews from readers only fuel my motivation to complete part three of the Ranisha series.

Can you share more about the publishing journey?
I have learnt a lot from publishing my first book.
I am more of a numbers person, but I have educated myself in the English language and grammar.
This time, I was better prepared regarding the timing of the scenarios within the story. I ensured most issues were resolved during the editing phase, rather than the layout phase.
I proofread my own stories because, while editors are great, they are only human, and mistakes do occur. I found a single word can alter a sentence and its meaning completely.

Where is the book available?
It is available on Amazon, Smashwords, and all the affiliates with Draft2Digital.

What do you love most about writing?
I have an imaginative brain, and what better way to express that than by putting it down on paper?
I want to share my stories with the world. Writing is expressing yourself and letting go, instead of bottling up your emotions.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
I am currently working on the third instalment of the series.
The genre focuses more on crime, and I have the story already mapped out. I only need to find the time to type it out.
I thank all my readers who have made this writing journey a triumphant one.
