Foundation donates school shoes to Community of Hope

The donations are aimed to ensure that children from underprivileged backgrounds are equipped for the school year ahead, reducing the financial strain on families as January approaches.

Help A Child Foundation brought smiles to the Community of Hope Multipurpose Centre on November 26 by donating 44 pairs of school shoes.

The donations ensure children from underprivileged backgrounds are equipped for the school year ahead, reducing the financial strain on families as January approaches.

A Community of Hope Multipurpose Centre representative Elaine Appies shared, “January is often a tough month for many parents, with expenses piling up.

“Providing school shoes eases the financial pressure on families and gives children the confidence to start the school year.

“As these pairs of school shoes find their way to eager young learners, they symbolise more than just footwear – they represent a step towards a brighter, more promising future for the children of Reiger Park.

Hlayi Chauke said the foundation’s mission was to bring hope to children facing hardships. Their key objectives include:
• Providing school uniforms to children in need.

• Offering psychological support to foster mental well-being.

• Guiding children in career choices to help them envision a brighter future.

• Assisting less privileged students by covering application fees for institutions of higher learning.

“Through these efforts, the foundation strives to create opportunities for children to succeed, no matter their circumstances,” said Chauke.
