Koppies attract international academics
All proceeds from visitors goes to the upkeep of Melville Koppies.
Melville Koppies Highveld grasslands are one of earth’s endangered ecological treasures.
Academics worldwide are researching and recording this asset.
Recently, Professor Sally Archibald from Wits brought some fellow academics on a field trip to the Koppies.

The Koppies are open every Sunday from 08.00 to 11.30.
Self-guide yourself on a hike from 500m to 5km and there is storytelling on the second Sunday of the month (next one is on May 11, Mother’s Day) and an 8km guided hike on the last Sunday of the month.
Entry is R100 per person, under 18 is R50 and those under five get in free.
There is safe parking opposite the entrance to Melville Koppies at Marks Park Sports Club in Judith Road, Emmarentia.
All income generated is used for the conservation of the Koppies.
