Lots of donations come in for SPCA at fundraising event

The local Mr Global SA finalist 2025, community members and a few passionate bikers, made a difference for animals in need.

The Boksburg SPCA received a heartfelt donation following an action-packed fundraising event organised by local Mr Global South Africa 2025 finalist Bevan Lingard at Food Lovers Market Boksburg on North Rand Road, on May 24.

Lingard collected R2 500, pet food, and blankets at the event.

It was a fun-filled day for the whole family, with face painting and jumping castles for the children to enjoy.

Motorcycle clubs, including the Crusaders MC and Clan 3663, supported the day.

The Crusaders’ secretary, David Kolm, said they were pleased to support a good initiative.

“It is not difficult to see on social media that with winter here, SPCAs across the country are struggling. This is why we are supporting this initiative. We also brought food and blankets for the SPCA,” he said.

Mandy Prinsloo of Clan said they supported the event because they are passionate about animals.

Lingard described the day as a success.

“Not only did I meet amazing people, such as the Crusaders and Clan bike clubs, but I also had a wonderful time with the generous community who contributed to the SPCA. This highlights the consistent willingness of people to assist when given a chance.”

He thanked everyone for their support.

Boksburg SPCA manager Vicky Finnemore expressed her gratitude to all who contributed.
