Be an animal hero for only R75 a month!
The Boksburg SPCA has been the voice for the voiceless – protecting, healing, and standing up for animals in need throughout the community.
To mark its 75th birthday, the Boksburg SPCA is appealing to the community to become a birthday hero by committing to a monthly donation of R75.
According to manager Vicky Finnemore, this milestone is not just a celebration of their past, but a call to action for their future.
“Every cent helps us continue to care for those who cannot speak for themselves. I would also like to thank community members and businesses that are already assisting the SPCA,” said Finnemore.
How the society makes a difference
Rescue and care: Every day, the SPCA’s team takes in animals that have been surrendered, neglected or abandoned. They provide food, veterinary treatment and loving care to every animal who comes through its doors.
Inspectorate services: The inspectors are on the frontlines, investigating cases of cruelty, educating pet owners, conducting proactive welfare inspections and ensuring the safety of animals through pre- and post-adoption home visits.
Community outreach: The outreach team visits informal communities weekly, providing tick and flea control, deworming, rabies vaccinations and basic healthcare for pets who have no other access to veterinary services. Animals needing further care or sterilisation are brought back to the SPCA.
Affordable sterilisation: Through its community clinic, the SPCA assist pet owners who cannot afford sterilisation, helping prevent unwanted litters and easing the burden of South Africa’s ongoing pet overpopulation crisis.
Adoption service: Dedicated adoptions team works tirelessly to match hundreds of deserving animals with loving, forever homes – giving them a second chance at life.
