St Dominic’s primary and high school majorette teams have qualified for the South African Majorette and Cheerleading Association (SAMCA) National Championships, taking place in the Western Cape during the first week of July.
This exciting achievement follows their standout performances at the recent Gauteng Provincial Majorette Championships, where both teams took top honours overall in their respective divisions.
The St Dominic’s majorette teams impressed crowds and judges alike with their exceptional skill, creativity, and teamwork.
Their routines showcased not only precision and discipline but also the passion and spirit that define the sport.

The Primary School team, known as The Saintees, is led by dynamic Grade Seven students Aphiwe Ngcobo and Gianna Bussack, who have shown remarkable leadership and talent throughout the season. The high school team affectionately called The Saints, is under the guidance of Grade 12 student Elizabeth Chimedza, whose experience and energy have been key to the team’s success.
According to the school’s marketing manager, Sharon Antonizzi, special recognition goes to the dedicated coaching team of Alisha Venter, Matthew Higgs, Natalie Brink, Zoe Pretorius, and Rabi Mobeng, whose innovative coaching methods and tireless commitment have helped elevate the teams to national level.
“The teams’ creativity and displays left the audience in awe. With their momentum and talent, St Dominic’s is set to make a powerful impact at the SAMCA Nationals,” said Antonizzi.
