Community rallies behind Humanity Foundation’s food and sanitary drive

The Humanity Foundation’s recent food and sanitary drive at PnP Towers, for Women’s Month, was a heartening display of community spirit and generosity.

With strong support from the community and volunteers, the foundation successfully collected a bakkie full of essential items for NPOs in need.

The event was aimed at gathering non-perishable food, sanitary products, toiletries, and personal care items in support of women, particularly survivors of gender-based violence.

Adding to the festive and inclusive atmosphere, Birchwood Spur brought smiles to young faces with free face painting and delighted children with lucky packets and vouchers.
Furthermore, DJ Lindo kept the energy high with lively entertainment throughout the day, drawing in more supporters.

Representatives from Urban Ruins NPO were also present to show solidarity and connect with the cause.

Darrel Gower, the manager of Birchwood Spur, shared his enthusiasm about the initiative.

“Supporting this drive is simply the right thing to do. Spur has a genuine heart and passion for meaningful initiatives and is proud to be part of The Humanity Foundation’s efforts.”

Founder Pierre Marneweck expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming response.

“We are extremely happy about the outcome of the drive. The items will be sorted and soon be handed over. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the event,” Marneweck said.

This initiative highlighted the power of collective action in restoring dignity and supporting frontline organisations that serve women in crisis.

The foundation will continue its mission to uplift vulnerable communities – one act of kindness at a time.
