Winners announced in charity raffle

The initiative was a success thanks to the generous support of the community and sponsors.

In a heartwarming close to Women’s Month, Astron Energy Sunward Park and FreshStop have proudly announced the winners of their August charity raffle, an initiative held in support of Mercy Haven Ubuntu Shelter.

The raffle, which ran throughout the month of August, was aimed at raising funds and awareness for the shelter’s invaluable work in the community.

With more than 250 entries received, the response from the public reflected a strong spirit of community and compassion.

“As our raffle comes to a close, I sincerely thank Jumpaholics SA for their wonderful collaboration, as well as all our generous sponsors for their contributions,” said organiser Naeema Ismail.

Sponsors included Treger Sports, Aurora Pharma, Diamond Corner, Ziba Styles, i Colour Correct, Pappachinos, and Nimble.

Naeema extended a special word of thanks to the loyal customers who purchased raffle tickets, noting that their support made it possible to give back and make a real difference.

She also expressed gratitude to the Boksburg Advertiser for their media support and to Maria from Mercy Haven Ubuntu Shelter for the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful cause.

“Together, we’ve shown the power of community and compassion,” she said.

The raffle featured a range of exciting prizes, including a pair of On Cloud sneakers, an Alo hamper, a Polar cooler box, an LG XBoom Go speaker, Neovita Gummies and Motherkind wellness products, a jewellery hamper, a customised shopper bag, and a Pappachinos voucher.

Winners were contacted directly and have already begun receiving their prizes.

This initiative was not only a celebration of Women’s Month but also a testament to the impact a united community can have. Astron Energy Sunward Park and FreshStop extend their sincere thanks to everyone who supported the cause and helped bring hope to those in need through Mercy Haven.

Mercy Haven centre manager Maria Pereira expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed towards the generous initiative.
