Man arrested, 123 bags of dagga seized

The suspect led the police to a storage unit where they recovered bags of dagga wrapped in tape and plastic.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested in Boksburg after members of the Gauteng Police Emergency Services (PES) discovered 123 bags of dagga, on September 30.

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Grant Giblin, Gauteng PES Flexi members from Johannesburg Flying Squad were patrolling on the highways around Boksburg at about 14:00 when they noticed a suspicious silver/grey Toyota Etios travelling at a high speed.
“The members managed to pull the vehicle over on the N12 East next to Boksburg, and the driver was immediately arrested when members found a wrapped bag of dagga in the vehicle.”
Things did not end there, as the alert members further noticed a key with a tag on it, naming a storage unit in Boksburg North, with the unit number on it.
“The suspect then led the members to the storage unit where they recovered a further 122 bags of dagga wrapped in tape and plastic.

The suspect was detained at Boksburg North SAPS while the dagga was handed in as an exhibit.”
He was scheduled to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Courts facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
Investigation continues.
