Schools, NPOs benefit from Boksburg Advertiser’s sanitary pad drive

Boksburg Advertiser extends a special thanks to Pick n Pay Towers for their support and generous donation of a shopping voucher.

Donations of sanitary pads have been made to several schools and community organisations following the successful conclusion of the Pad a Girl’s Future campaign, led by Caxton Local Media East Rand’s Boksburg Advertiser in partnership with Pick n Pay Towers.

Launched on August 1 in celebration of Women’s Month, the initiative encouraged residents, shoppers, and local businesses to contribute sanitary pads to help schoolgirls affected by period poverty.

The community responded with overwhelming generosity, as donations poured in steadily throughout the campaign. Pick n Pay Towers also donated R5 000, giving the project a meaningful boost.

The distributions were done in consultation with school principals and community partners to ensure that girls do not miss school due to a lack of sanitary products.

Boksburg Advertiser extends heartfelt thanks to every resident, shopper, and business that supported the campaign.

Their kindness and compassion have helped restore dignity and opportunity to young girls in the community.
