Man’s body stuffed in a sack found dumped in Railway Street

The body of the man, believed to be in his early 30s, has not been identified yet.

Police found the body of an unidentified man stuffed inside a white maize meal sack next to Railway Street, near the Boksburg East railway station.

The body of the man, in two sets of pants (a blue pant underneath and black one on top), was discovered by a member of the public, who then contacted the police just after midday on Sunday (October 19).
Police said there were visible injury marks on the man’s face and eyes, suggesting that he was assaulted before his death.

He was certified dead by paramedics before his body was removed and transported to a local state mortuary for further investigations.
Boksburg SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Ntsako Ledwaba, said there is prima facie evidence that that the man was killed, hence a case of murder was registered.
It’s still unclear whether the victim was killed elsewhere and stuffed in the sack before it was disposed of.

Investigators are still trying to identify the man believed to be in his early 30s. Anyone with information that can provide some leads to track down the killer/s or identify the body may call on 010 497 9900.
This comes about three weeks after the shocking murder of a man whose body was found in a gaping hole in the Jerusalem informal settlement, near Witfield, on September 30. The deceased, identified as Wandise Thakathi, had bullet wounds to his face.
No arrests have been made so far, and police have renewed their appeal for information that could assist the investigation.
