Charne Bell, Mrs South Africa semi-finalist writes:

I would like to share a story that I believe highlights the power of community and the importance of supporting vulnerable children.

Recently, I visited Kids Haven in Benoni, an organisation that has been providing care, protection and support to children and families in the Ekurhuleni area since 1992.

As part of my journey as a Mrs South Africa semi-finalist, I organised a charity drive and with the incredible support of my community, we were able to collect toys and clothing for the children at the facility.

Kids Haven not only provides a safe space for up to 170 children and young people, but also works to strengthen families and continues to support children even after they leave their care.

As a mother of two young children, this experience was deeply meaningful to me.

It reminded me how vital it is for every child to feel safe, valued, and supported.

My hope is that by sharing this story, it may inspire others in our community to get involved and make a difference, no matter how small the contribution may seem.
