Community invited to candlelight vigil for women slain in Reiger Park at 17:00 tonight
Sharney Blackway, a family member and resident of Reiger Park, confirmed to Boksburg Advertiser the vigil will go ahead regardless of the adverse weather.
In the quiet of early evening tonight (August 11), community members will gather where sirens once wailed and shock gave way to grief, to light candles and remember.
The families of Rolene Lessing (36) and Jaydin Magerman (27) have called on the community to join them for a candlelight vigil at the Erika Street scene where the women were murdered, along with two members of the SAPS Provincial Anti-Gang Unit, on Friday night (August 7).

The ceremony, which starts at 17:00, is intended as a space for healing, to honour those who died and to acknowledge those still carrying the weight of that night, the families said.
Residents are asked to bring their own candles for the vigil.
For those driving, parking is available at the park opposite the scene or along nearby streets, to keep the area accessible for all attendees.
Friday’s attack sent shockwaves through Reiger Park, robbing families of breadwinners and leaving residents facing fear and loss.
The vigil comes as residents continue to call for lasting safety and support in the aftermath, and the police continue to appeal to the community to come forward with information about criminals and criminal activity in Reiger Park.
For the families and the community, tonight will not only be about remembering the victims, but also about starting to heal.
