Police arrest man in Tweefontein in connection with Windmill Park house robbery

A 39-year-old man was arrested in Mpumalanga following a months-long investigation into a house robbery in Windmill Park in which R40 000 was allegedly stolen.

A 39-year-old man was arrested in Tweefontein, Mpumalanga, on September 25 in connection with a house robbery in Windmill Park earlier this year.

The suspect was arrested by SAPS Dawn Park Crime Intelligence officers following an investigation into the robbery.

A case was opened at Dawn Park Police Station after a resident was allegedly attacked by four unknown men at his home on January 12.

According to police, the suspects assaulted the complainant and demanded money before searching the house and fleeing with R40 000.

As the group left the property, they reportedly encountered security officers who were patrolling the area.

A shoot-out followed between the suspects and the security officers. No injuries were reported.

The subsequent investigation led Crime Intelligence officers to Tweefontein, where the 39-year-old suspect was arrested.

He was taken into custody at SAPS Dawn Park.

The case is postponed to October 5 for formal bail application at Vosloorus District Court.Police are continuing their investigation and are searching for the three other suspects who remain at large.
