Parents learn at fun-filled workshop

Through small acts, like mixing paints or building towers, children discover the magic of cause and effect, igniting a spark of curiosity that drives their cognitive development.

Fun and games took centre stage at Curro Academy Parkdene Primary School when some 70 parents took part in an exciting journey of discovery, where learning became an enthralling adventure.

In a captivating workshop on play-based learning, Janet Beyrooti, Curro Holdings’ preschool curriculum manager, shared her insights on the importance of this learning approach. She also highlighted the enchanting interchange between structured learning and the boundless creativity that blooms through play.

Through this innovative curriculum, Curro’s pre-schoolers are encouraged to explore both indoors and outdoors, enabling experiential learning that fosters critical skills through play. Beyrooti explained the rich paradox of play, where seemingly chaotic moments merge seamlessly into the structured environment of the classroom.
