The Advertiser asked a few locals if they think Christmas is going to be different this year.
Adri Cloete: I expect this festive season is going to be much quieter. There will be less family gatherings and people don't really have money to go on holiday.
Magda Scholtz: Christmas is going to be different because many people will work as they were on leave during the hard lockdown. I also changed my holiday plans because I have to work.
Lawrence Nkosi: I believe that many people will not visit their families this year as they are scared of contracting the virus. I'm also going to stay home this year.
Morgan Dube: I think Christmas is definitely going to be calmer this year as people are too broke to go away or have big parties, due the pandemic.
Elna Erasmus: Christmas is certainly going to be different because more people are going to stay home. I didn't have to change my holiday plans because I'm working this festive season.
