Do you think the police are equipped enough to protect you?

According to The Witness, gun shops and firearm organisations have noted a marked increase in people wanting to start the long-winded process to get a licensed firearm and purchase other legal weapons for self-defence.

Why do you think more people want firearms? Are the police equipped to protect us?

Elizabeth Evans: People want to safeguard their families and belongings. There are maybe not enough police vehicles that can timeously assist at a scene.

Carolann Smith: People just want to protect themselves and I don’t think the police are equipped enough to do so.

Khayalandile Gqda: Some people just want to feel safer and protect themselves against criminals. However, I believe the police are equipped enough to protect us.

Mark Gilpin: We need to be armed to protect ourselves. Criminals are getting more violent and the police don’t have enough manpower and are under-resourced.

Eric Madau: Poeple want to be safe. The police can protect us, they need more manpower. Government should appoint more officers.
