Shaun Carter of Boksburg writes:
I am shocked and dismayed at the sad state of the public spaces in the Boksburg CBD and surrounding areas. Never has it ever looked as unkept and filthy as it does now.
Even though the ward councillor is doing his best to get the metro to do the right thing, the municipal officials refuse to listen.

Why do we find ourselves in a new year where the grass supposed to be cut by the metro stands knee-high? The weeds choke signs, and the potholes are becoming so big they now look like sinkholes.
The unkept sidewalks pose a safety hazard for pedestrians left with no space when walking between home and work in the dark because the street lights are not working.
It is time that this year when the elections come, we elect those who truly care for us, the community, and not their salaries.
