Paying for prepaid and normal electricity usage

Jenny Gomes, a concerned resident, wrote an online comment, about "Ekurhuleni encourages converting to prepaid", (Advertiser August 12, 2013):

Regarding the apparent illegal connections by the metro, we also had a similar experience when my daughter converted to prepaid months ago, and they are still getting billed for electricity by the council.

When they inquired, they were told they must pay the thousands in the meantime and it will be refunded to them when the person who installed their meter hands in his job card!

So they are paying for their prepaid while they must also still pay for some bogus interim reading, just because some people at the Council are too lazy to do their job properly.

They were told their meter would be disconnected if they didn’t pay the other bill.

Each month more amounts are being added for “electricity”!
