Mynhardt leads EFC 27 bill

EFC Africa lightweight champion, Leon Mynhardt, will defend his gold against undefeated challenger Frederich Naumann, in what promises to be an epic main event bout when the show’s 27th edition returns to Carnival City, on Thursday, February 27, after a three-month absence.

Mynhardt, who’s affectionately known as the “Iron Lion”, will be looking to improve his 14-6 fight record with a successful title defence, while “Ninja” will be hoping to force a title hand-change and stretch his perfect run to 5-0.

The night’s second main event will see Tap Out Academy trainee Nkazimulo Zulu face-off against Charlie “Silky Smooth” Weyer for the inaugural EFC bantamweight title.

In another pick of the 13-bout bill, DRC powerhouse Vandam Mbuyi faces Brendon Groenewald in a number-one contender fight for the vacant heavyweight title.

Former heavyweight champion Ruan “Fangzz” Potts recently relinquished the title amid being handed a six-match deal to fight at US-based international promotion, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
