Exciting cricket concept heads for the East Rand

In April, this year, it was announced by Cricket South Africa (CSA) that, as an inaugural curtain-raising developmental tournament to the domestic cricket season, the Africa T20 Cup will take place from September 4 to October 4.

The 16-team event will see 13 South African provincial (semi-professional) sides competing with Zimbabwe, Namibia and Kenya, in four pools, before the semi-final on October 3 and the final on October 4.

Benoni’s Willowmoore Park will host six Pool A fixtures on September 4, 5 and 6, with four of the scheduled matches to be televised.

The Easterns team will play Western Province, Northerns and Zimbabwe in Pool A.

Pool A fixtures at Willowmoore Park: Friday, September 4 (day/night game), 6pm to 9.20pm: Easterns vs Western Province; Saturday, September 5, 9.30am to 12.40pm: Western Province vs Northerns*, 1pm to 4.10pm: Easterns vs Zimbabwe*, 4.30pm to 7.40pm (day/night game): Northerns vs Zimbabwe; September 6, 10am to 1.10pm: Zimbabwe vs Western Province*, 1.30pm to 4.40pm: Easterns vs Northerns*.

(Matches depicted with * are scheduled to be televised).

Other matches will be played thereafter, at Potchefstroom’s Senwes Park, Kimberley’s Diamond Oval and Bloemfontein’s Mangaung Oval.
