Tough day for Woodlands in friendship derby

For the second year, Woodlands International College and Shangri-La Academy's netball and soccer teams competed against each other in the Friendship Derby.

Shangri-La Academy won the day with 24 points overall and took the floating trophy home, remaining unbeaten.

The results for each match are as follows:

q Soccer:

U-9: Shangri-La won 4-2 (man of the match Gabriel Bourbier from Shangri-la Academy)

U-11: Shangri-La won 6-1 (man of the match Marco Bezuidenhout from Shangri-la Academy)

U-13: Shangri-La won 4-2 (man of the match Darren Claassen from Shangri-La Academy)

U-15: Woodlands won 5-4 (man of the match Miguel Moniz from Woodlands)

Opens: Shangri-la won 4-0 (Selaki Sports player of the day Mark Shoebridge from Shangri-la Academy)

q Netball:

U-9: Woodlands won 3-2 (player of the match Kydan Kitchener from Shangri-la Academy)

U-11: Shangri-La won 5-0 (player of the match – Lily Steenkamp from Shangri-la Academy)

U-13: Shangri-La won 15-7 (player of the match Kutluano Kabelo from Shangri-la)

U-15: Woodlands won 11-8 (player of the match Shae-lynn Henderson from Woodlands)

Opens: Woodlands won 29-23 (Selaki Sports player of the day Zama Vilakazi from Woodlands)
