It is time for the Birchwood Half Marathon this Sunday

Entries are sold out and no entries will be taken on race day.

The Birchwood Half Marathon takes place in Boksburg on Sunday (April 22).

Racers partaking without an official entry will be disqualified and reported to CGA and their respective club for further action.

This is the eighth year the marathon, hosted by Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre, is being hosted.

The starting time for the 21.1km and 10km is 6.30am and 7.30am for the 5km race.

The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) has confirmed its traffic wardens will be paired with race marshals and be deployed at all busy intersections to ensure road safety for all participants and motorists along the route.

“Along with the SAPS, the EMPD will be monitoring the entire event and the Ekurhuleni emergency services will also be on standby,” said EMPD media liaison officer Kobeli Mokheseng.

It promises to be a fun day out for the whole family with a children’s play area, food and refreshments, a post-race massage zone and live music.

We wish all participating Boksburg runners good luck!
